Yayyyy!! They popped the question! You said yes!!! You’ve got a ring!!

Okay….so where do we take the photos to post though?

I love to ask couples if they have a place that is special to them, because taking photos there is always more meaningful. Some couples will go back to where the proposal was, or their first date, or choose their favourite activity to do together for photos which is SO so good every time.

If you’re feeling stumped, and want some ideas to get you excited for those special photos of you and your love, let me help you by sharing my top 5 favourite places to take engagement photos all within an hour of Vancouver, British Columbia!

1-Vancouver Beaches

You really can’t beat a beach at sunset, running through waves with your boo. Some of my favourites pictured here are Mud Bay Park (Surrey), Whytecliff Park (West Van), Kitsilano Beach and Jericho Beach (Downtown Vancouver), and in Richmond, Iona Beach, which at low tide legitimately looks like you’re at the salt flats in Utah. Mind. Blown.

2-Golden Ears Provincial Park

It simply can’t be beat for offering every beautiful aspect in nature. The towering Golden Ears mountains behind the glacial Allouette Lake, right next to the greenest forest, Spirea Nature Trail.

If you venture to North Beach, it’s about a 10-15 minute walk in, but it will feel like you’ve gone on a mini vacay to Hawaii, trust me on this one!

3-Pitt Lake

Just an hour from Vancouver is Pitt Lake, which resides in between the golden ears mountain ranges and makes for some spectacular views. It’s been soaring in popularity because of the accessibility, and truly never disappoints.

4-Squamish Estuary

Squamish is basically a 360 degree view of the prettiest mountains. The chief towers over the city, and there are some GORGEOUS spots just out of the city on the spit and estuary trails that are just perfect if you want this unbelievable back drop.

5-Prospect Point

At the edge of the sea wall is where you’ll find this incredibly romantic gem. If you’re hoping for a mix of city vibes and nature, this is the spot for you, offering beautiful ocean and mountain views on one side, and the Lions Gate Bridge and skyline in the other.

6-Vancouver Rooftops

Okay, I HAD to add a 6th just for this, rooftops are SUCH a fun place to get photos done and private too! The city vibes are immaculate overlooking the streets, and you won’t be waiting for tourists or park go-ers to walk by.
